A tip to Melania and her perplexing, difficult to reconcile, “Be Best” initiative.  So too is Baltimore a bewildering admixture of realities -  one of decay and development, of scraping by and soaring high. What does it truly mean to “be best?”  To “be your Baltimore best” the realization must be that we are all in “it” together.  We cannot allow life here to be a simple dichotomy - a tale of two cities.  I strive to provide the picture of a city where strong emotions fuel hope, where beauty resides in ruins waiting to be resurrected, and where we cannot dare to turn out back on the pain and loneliness around us.
